Michael F Gould been writing and performing songs since he was a teenager. But his career was as a Mad Man; he grew and sold an ad agency to McCann Erickson, just like the TV show, putting off his music career for a few decades, all the while writing songs and jingles, playing in the Leeg, and performing.

Before starting the Leeg in 1984, he played in a variety of bands: Korral, Scarab, Modoc, Skyway and The Woods. He has published four albums, two with The Woods, and two solo albums, She Said, which can be found on Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Reverbnation, and Soundcloud, and his current 2022 release, Baby Is It Love, which features among many other songs, a song co-written with Tom Lehrer, with whom he has collaborated many times over the years.

Together with members of The Woods and a huge league of other players, Michael hosted annual musical event for 40 years in a row: The Redwood Jam.
 
Michael is producing new music as well as the unheard songs he's been creating for decades. No compromises. No time constraints. And with an attention to songwriting, arranging and recording detail unsigned artists sometimes can't afford in a commercial studio.

His musical style can be found somewhere in the middle of a Venn diagram of his hero songwriters: Paul Simon, Donald Fagan, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Randy Newman, David Byrne, and of course the Beatles.

He lives with his wife and performs in the Bay Area with the Leeg, which includes the core four plus many guests, including Michael's progeny who are all significant musicians and singers in their own right.
